NEW ZEALAND captain Daniel Vettori and four of his team-mates have been given permission to miss the start of the tour of England in order to play in the Indian Premier League Twenty20 tournament.

Vettori, Brendon McCullum, Ross Taylor, Kyle Mills and Jacob Oram injuries ruled the latter pair out of this week's Test defeat in Napier will arrive in England a week later than the rest of the Kiwi party.
