YOUR City Insider column (31 March) claims that millionaires on The Economist staff are lobbying me to withhold backing from Labour at the next election because of the recent closure of tax loopholes that allegedly affects them (Economical with the backing, 31 March).
I very much doubt whether, given London house prices, there are more "millionaires" on our staff than at, say, the Evening Standard. But anyway, no one has lobbied me, and all staff know that to do so would be both grossly improper and a waste of time, for we would never make an election endorsement on such tawdry grounds.See the full content of this document
