WINDSOR CASTLE is to become more environmentally friendly after proposals to run it on hydroelectric power were approved.
Planning inspectors granted permission for a Pounds 1 million, four-turbine energyefficient plant at Romney Weir on the River Thames, enabling the change at the castle. The power plant will generate 200 kilowatts, about one-third of the energy required to power Windsor and will be the biggest of its kind in the South.See the full content of this document
