LOOKING at the guest list for the CBI dinner on Monday night, it was striking how few major British companies had thought it worthwhile to attend and how numerous were the serried ranks of foreign businesses and their UKowned subsidiaries.
They almost outnumbered the consultants. That being the case, it was also intriguing to speculate how much attention this constituency paid to the vigorous campaign launched that morning by the CBI against the current aggressive attitude of Revenue Customs, coupled with the uncompetitive high rate of UK corporation tax levied on company profits.See the full content of this document
