THE DVD I'VE LOVED YOU SO LONG (Cert 12, Lions Gate, Pounds 19.99) MUCH of the praise heaped on this low-key French family drama focused on Kristin Scott Thomas's bruised performance as Juliette, a woman released back into society after serving 15 years for murder. But equal kudos should go to director Philippe Claudel, who proves that less is more, and Elsa Zylberstein, as Lea, the younger sister who helps Juliette feel her way back to normal life. Intensely moving, movingly intense. NICK CURTIS
THE BOOK THE BOLTER Frances Osborne (Virago, Pounds 8.99) NO WONDER that at the age of 13, Frances Osborne was enthralled to find the identity of her great-grandmother, Idina Sackville, who served as the model for one of Nancy Mitford's most delightful inventions. Idina married five of her lovers, and although never officially guilty of stealing husbands, she might "pick them up if they were left lying around" in her pursuit of love and happiness.
