FOR 30 years before I retired I worked in and around dealing rooms in City banks. There were quite a few women dealers and they were every bit as aggressive, as arrogant and as avaricious as their male counterparts. The idea that women intrinsically have more empathy and emotional intelligence than men is twaddle.

As for the radical feminist refrain that there would be no war and strife if women ruled the world, what about Mrs Thatcher, Golda Meir, Elizabeth I and the original pushy Essex girl, Boudicca?
