Summary
THE idea that Brentfield Estate post office in Wrights Place, NW10, is underused is laughable (Post offices disappear from London, 19 February). I have lived in the area for 70 years and it remains as central to the community now as it was then.
It serves four different housing estates, and the area contains a high proportion of elderly people who rely on it for picking up their pensions. To expect them to go a mile or more down the road to the next closest post office through streets perceived as being dangerous is disgraceful and what's more, the alternative for many is in a branch of Tesco, where there are queues so long you sometimes have to wait for an hour for counter service.See the full content of this document
