IAM not sure the City figures who are queuing up to say that they are leaving the country as a result of the hiking of top rate tax to 50% are doing themselves or their cause any favours. No one likes to pay more tax but in the long list of casualties of Britain's economic downfall, those earning over Pounds 150,000, of which I am one, are surely among the least hurt by it.
If the few thousand pounds more that they will have to hand over are really reason enough to uproot themselves their wives and their families for the overpriced claustrophobic goldfish bowl of Monte Carlo or the stupefying boredom of Switzerland then they perhaps put too much value on the quantum of money and not enough on the quality of life it can buy.See the full content of this document
