CABINET minister Ruth Kelly faced embarrassment today when a media watchdog ruled that there was a " public interest" in her decision to send her son to a private school.

The Press Complaints Commission rejected Ms Kelly's complaint that a Daily Mirror article had breached her privacy by revealing she had arranged for the child to opt out of the state system.
