AMERICA today launched its biggest air attack on Iraq since the 2003 invasion.

The US military said Operation Swarmer is targeting suspected insurgents near the town of Samarra, 60 miles north of Baghdad. The strike involves more than 50 aircraft, 1,500 Iraqi and US troops and 200 tactical vehicles and is expected to continue for several days.
