TWO years after being told she would never run again, Carolyn Hewett will represent the UK in the Ford Ironman World Championship in Hawaii tomorrow. She will compete against 1,500 other athletes in a 140-mile swim, run and cycle.
In 2005 she was diagnosed with chronic fatigue after a bout of viral meningitis. Miss Hewett, 29, from West Kensington, said: "I didn't believe the doctors, so after seven months I went for a short run and ended up in bed for a week recovering. So I waited a month, ran again and only ended up in bed for four days."
