A Tory lobby group has been set up called Conservatives for International Travel, or C-FIT to campaign for airport expansion. The C-FIT website features a mock-up wanted poster of Shadow Transport Secretary Theresa Villiers with the message: For the crime of turning the Conservative Party into an anti-capitalist, eco- campaigning arm of Greenpeace. 50,000 euros reward.

Tory MP Douglas Carswell is outraged. Theresa was one of the first to call for BAAs monopoly over so much of the airport capacity in the South-East to be broken up an approach now backed by the Competition Commission. Giving passengers the option of voting with their feet to choose between airports run by different operators should help all of us get a better deal and better customer service than BAA currently offers.
