TV PROPERTY presenter Kirstie Allsopp recently infuriated the Conservatives by failing to turn up at the launch of their housing policy in Leeds when she discovered David Cameron would not be there himself. Central Office may, however, take comfort from the thought that the Office of Deputy Prime Minister has an even lower opinion of her political contributions.
On Sir Trevor MacDonald's Tonight programme late last month, Allsopp was interviewed about the Government's proposed Home Information Packs, which the government is backing and the Tories have pledged to abolish. She said: "John Prescott's office have got Pounds 45 million to spend on promoting this new system. There's going to be a big advertising campaign and my agent was approached by a PR company to say, does Kirstie want to be the poster girl for the Home Information Pack!"See the full content of this document
