MARIANO PUERTA, this year's losing French Open finalist, has been banned from tennis for eight years after a second positive dope test.

Puerta, at number 37 the lowest ranked player in the Open Era to reach the final at Roland Garros, tested positive for Etilefrine which was found in a sample taken after his defeat in Paris to Spain's Rafael Nadal.
