BANKING AND FINANCE Bridgewell, the small and medium companies broker, admitted it has received a number of potential takeover approaches after it revealed a 5% fall in profits today. The broker, which floated at 140p last June, saw its shares rise 21/2p to 123p. Rivals such as Canaccord, Evolution or Collins Stewart may be interested.
BUILDING AND PROPERTY West End of London developer Great Portland Estates has set up a i460 million joint venture with shopping centre property giant Liberty's Capital Counties division.
