THE life of a TV presenter looks pretty glamorous, from the outside at least. Since winning a national competition to become a TV presenter in 1985, aged 17, I've interviewed countless celebrities - and dated quite a few, too - travelled to far- flung holiday destinations and handled deadly animals ... all in the name of light entertainment.

I even spent a good few years trussed up in ridiculous outfits, teetering around on high heels, pretending to laugh at John Leslie's terrible jokes as the hostess on Wheel of Fortune.
