CORONATION Street's resident badboy Charlie Stubbs is set to be killed off when he leaves he soap early next year, prompting a huge whodunnit storyline. The character, played by Bill Ward, is the Street's undisputed lothario, having had affairs with many of the Weatherfield beauties.

However, in what is set to be one of the most high-profile storylines in recent times, Charlie is set to get his comeuppance for his cheating behaviour on girlfriend Tracy Barlow - who is played by Kate Ford.

Speaking at last night's Inside Soap Awards, where he picked up the award for Best Badboy, Ward revealed: "Charlie will get his just deserts, there is no doubt about that.

"He is set for a messy end and it's going to be a brilliant storyline.

Charlie has messed so many girls around that it is no surprise that he will get what is coming to him."
