COLIN STAGG, the man cleared of the 1992 Wimbledon Common murder of former model Rachel Nickell, is poised to sue Scotland Yard for up to Pounds 1 million after winning a six-figure pay out.
Home Secretary John Reid has approved Pounds 250,000 in compensation to Mr Stagg, more than 12 years after he was dramatically cleared at the Old Bailey. Today his solicitor Alex Tribick said: "He will be delighted. Anything that vindicates his position can only be a good thing."
