SMALL business leaders tonight gave a cautious welcome to the Government's extensive new plans, which the Chancellor said would provide a total of [pounds]7 billion of extra support to the sector.

He told the banks he expects them all to follow the Royal Bank of Scotland's example and vow not to increase overdraft prices for the 4.7 million small UK businesses for at least a year.
