GORDON BROWN and Tony Blair joined forces today to launch a new drive to get single parents and the long-term unemployed into work.
The Chancellor will risk the wrath of the Labour left by backing plans for the private sector to run back-to-work schemes. The proposal is the centrepiece of a package of reforms drawn up by former investment banker David Freud. Another measure included in the report is cutting the benefits of lone parents if they fail to seek work once their child reaches the age of 11.See the full content of this document
