THE City today scaled back its expectations of a May increase in interest rates after news of a shock rise in unemployment.
In a pre-election blow to Labour, the jobless total rose by 29,000 to 1.43 million in the three months to February, according to the Governmentpreferred International Labour Organisation measure.
