A big message is metallics, not just gold and silver, but shades of copper, bronze, steel and platinum. The centre, with one of the largest display areas for fabric in Europe, sits gleaming on the edge of the Thames. Its interior has been dramatically modernised by design company Associate, thanks to glittering, twisting ribbons of steel suspended within the building's glassy domes.
