AT THE age of 20, Sadie Frost found several lumps in her breasts. "I was told, 'There's no problem. But you must get it checked regularly because you're high risk'." She was diagnosed as having fibrotic tissue and cysts in her breasts. This condition can indicate an increased risk of breast cancer. There may be a genetic link too: her aunt her mother's sister has survived the disease. Now 43, Frost has herself screened twice a year and does what she can for breast cancer charities.

"I'm quite relieved I have it in a way because I would otherwise not have kept getting checked so regularly. I just have to keep an eye on it and have the ultrasound tests." She jokes that the condition makes her breasts look bigger. So she doesn't have breast implants? Her best friend Kate Moss recently made comments about how unattractive some of her friends' fake breasts are. "Well, I know it's not me she's talking about. You can have a feel if you want," she laughs. (I politely decline.) "I've never heard Kate comment on that, so if I saw something like that in the paper I would just think it was taken out of context. She is somebody who does not have strong opinions about other people. She is a very accepting person." Daughter Iris, seven, nods in agreement Kate Moss is her godmother. We meet upstairs at Covent Garden members' club The Hospital, where mother and daughter are excitedly checking over some of the items Frost has sourced from her many celebrity friends for an internet auction by Selfridges in aid of Breast Cancer Care. Here are the black peep-toe size 38 Christian Louboutins which "Kate" has signed and covered with graffiti love hearts, a dress belonging to Amy Winehouse, a suit Jude Law wore on the set of Alfie, a guitar donated by Kasabian guitarist Jay Mehler, a Jake Chapman picture.
