BRITAIN'S biggest maker of underlay for carpets and laminate floors has been put up for sale by venture capitalist Rutland Partners, writes Jim Armitage.

Rutland built up Interfloor by buying flooring businesses from the Tomkins industrial conglomerate and rival venture capitalist Cinven in 2002.
