Russian Bid Starts to Falter

Summary


THE Russian bid to hold all four Grand Slam titles suffered a double blow at the Australian Open today when Anastasia Myskina and Elena Dementieva were both dumped out of the tournament.

Third seed Myskina, the French Open champion, was beaten 6-4,6-2 in the fourth round by Nathalie Dechy, the French No19 seed, who is coached by Sven Groeneveld, who is expected to start working again with Greg Rusedski in the coming weeks.
