DESPITE a landing that spun their plane around 180 degrees and snapped a wing, a Dannevirke farmer still did the deal on a flying visit to buy stock yesterday afternoon.

Barry Pope, the manager of Moerangi Station near Kuratau, Taupo, said the four occupants of the Cessna were lucky to get off so lightly when the plane came in hard on the farm's airstrip, careered through a fence, hit a tree stump and spun around. It ended up facing the direction it came in.
