AS NATO'S bombs began to fall on Serbia back in the spring of 1999, Michelle Davidson was based with the Army Intelligence Corps in the town of Banja Luka and she quickly found that many locals were unhappy about the onslaught.

"We were surrounded by Serbs who weren't very impressed by the fact that Serbia was being bombed," she says.
