BRITISH AIRWAYS today launched an ambitious expansion at London City Airport, fuelling talk that it has audacious plans to dominate the Docklands hub that may include launching a takeover bid for the airport's biggest airline operator, VLM.

Days after it finally ditched chronically loss-making regional operation BA Connect, the flag carrier said it is increasing its services at London City by a whopping 70% to 250 flights a week.
