JUST as for rappers it is an excellent career move to have actually been shot, so capably singing the blues demands a certain level of authenticity.

"Seasick" Steve Wold, heavily bearded, in dungarees and a tractor driver's cap, arms littered with tattoos, has lived. While the rest of us were attending meetings about stationery and standing beside photocopiers, this near-pensioner from California was a real hobo, leaving home at 13, travelling the country picking fruit, sleeping in the woods and playing a guitar with just three strings. Settling down in his later years, he worked in a Washington State recording studio, befriended Kurt Cobain and became a bluesman with a lot of tales to tell.
