MECCA Bingo halls owner Rank Group today brushed aside the impact of the smoking ban with a surge in profits.
Its shares jumped 9%, or 131/4p, to 1671/2p after it delivered profits of 37.3 million in the first six months, up from 21.9 million. It came despite a 4.4% slump in bingo turnover since the start of the smoking ban in England on 1 July.See the full content of this document
