Summary
A Map of British Poetry 4.30pm, Radio 4
It's the Poet Laureate, Andrew Motion (right), again (see also Saturday's radio pick), this time setting off on a 12-part journey through the landscapes of British poetry. Each programme takes place in a different location, ranging from an ancient stone ring on the Irish border up to a hill above Lake Windermere to a deserted London Tube station, and contains Motion's selection of poems linked to the landscape. Today's verses include works by Ezra Pound, Seamus Heaney, Edward Thomas and Dylan Thomas, read by Kenneth Cranham, Tom Courtenay, Simon Russell Beale and Diana Bishop.See the full content of this document
