LONDON PROTEST
THE price of black cabs rises again, yet still cabbies refuse to go south of the river. Arriving at King's Cross recently carrying a heavy suitcase I went to the black cab rank. "Lewisham, please". "F*** off !" the driver replied (albeit in a jocular way). The next one also refused. I pleaded with the driver to tell me the nearest minicab office. "Turn left," he said.
