Prayers and Candles to Mark Kember's 100 Days of Captivity

Summary

FRIENDS and relatives of peace worker Norman Kember gathered to pray for his safety 100 days after he was taken hostage in Iraq.

Up to 100 people lit candles in Trafalgar Square as vigils were held across the country for the 74-year-old and his fellow captives. Mr Kember, of Pinner, went to Iraq with Canadian group Christian Peacemaker Teams as a "gesture of solidarity" and was kidnapped along with three others. He was last seen alive in a video released by the Swords of Righteousness Brigade at the end of January.
