THE building of Crossrail would cost London more than Pounds 1.5 billion a year, says an independent report.
Work on the cross-London rail link, designed to connect Heathrow, the West End, the City and Canary Wharf, is due to begin next year but its future is in doubt because a financing package for the scheme - estimated to cost Pounds 10.2billion at 2002 prices - is still to be agreed by the Treasury.See the full content of this document
