Summary
TRAIPSING around Kensington after dark, we happened upon Launceston Place (1a Launceston Place). From the outside it looked like the kind of sweet neighbourhood restaurant where everybody knows your name and the maitre d' is your best friend.
Once inside, with fresh bread and butter in front of us and an aperitif of surprisingly good chilled sherry, we realised we were right. Our friendly waiter offered advice on ingredients and recommended a different wine for every course. The decor is very much Queen's dining room - bright lamps, overstuffed banquettes, red carpets and thick white tablecloths.See the full content of this document
