A 16-YEAR-OLD pilot who crashed and died during his second solo flight was told to abort his landing moments before the tragedy, an inquest heard today.

Sam Cross, of Hornchurch, Essex, died of multiple injuries when the Cessna plane he was flying "fell out of the sky" as he approached Southend Airport, the hearing was told.
