GOOD as it is to see the intimate Other Place back in use, it is a shame to have to report that what is on offer here, the latest from the RSC's New Work Festival, is dispiriting.

There is nothing about The Pilate Workshop that is not woeful. Based on Ann Wroe's book Pilate, The Biography of an Invented Man, this devised piece attempts to put a personal story to the most notorious washing of hands in history, but ends up an overlong, self- indulgent muddle.
