AT LAST, a river taxi service has arrived in Wandsworth, providing a much-needed transport link for residents living at out- on-a-limb waterfront developments. This stretch of riverside continues to be a development hotspot. Fancy apartment schemes with promenade cafes, boutiques and galleries are making the area a more convivial place but the drawback has always been that it is an inconvenient place to get to.
There is no handy train or Tube station to this part of town and drivers struggle with the traffic congestion around Wandsworth town centre. It is no better for those on foot. Behind the Thames is a pedestrian-unfriendly hinterland.See the full content of this document
