Pay Cuts at Schroders As Profits Slump

FUND manager Schroders today unveiled a 70% slump in profits and admitted it sees little chance of stock markets sparking into life this year.

The firm made Pounds 123 million in the year to 31 December, down from Pounds 392 million in 2007. Funds under management fell by Pounds 29 billion to Pounds 110 billion as equity values slid and investors withdrew money from the market.
