IN 2,000 nights of reviewing plays, I have not endured a more boring, oppressive and infantile experience than Dominic Hill's slapstick production of Alfred Jarry's black farce.

Its 1896 premiere scandalised, the performance interrupted after the first word - "Shit" - was uttered. More than a century later I left the theatre feeling as if I had been incarcerated in an adventure playground for children with severe behavioural problems and learning difficulties.
