THE Jonny Wilkinson Syndrome, which used to afflict just one unfortunate player, has now hit the England rugby squad to such an extent the whole nature of the professional game is being called into question.

Ironically, Wilkinson, whose injuryravaged career left him in seemingly perpetual rehabilitation programmes, is now one of team manager Martin Johnson's key players, having avoided any further setbacks while starting a new career at Toulon.
