IF Adrian Graydon Chatfield had pleaded guilty before trial, there's a good chance he would have received a sentence of home detention.Instead, the former merchant banker--who commanded a salary of $400,000 a year, plus bonuses--is beginning a three-year prison sentence for conspiracy to supply methamphetamine.

Chatfield, 35, along with Willie Hines, Gary O'Connell, both 28, Stanley Sole, 29, Nathan Poihipi, 30, Hari Hari Wairoa, 36, and Andrew Crombie, 47, appeared in the High Court at Palmerston North yesterday for sentencing, each on a charge of conspiracy to supply methamphetamine.
