BRITISH organ donors should be paid compensation for their kidneys to stop transplant patients travelling abroad and exploiting the poor, a lead-ing London surgeon said today.
Professor Nadey Hakim of St Marys Hospital in Paddington said thousands of lives were being put at risk by trans-plant tourism. He revealed he has had to operate in London on about 20 people after botched transplants abroad.
