An English designer from Reading with offices in Balham is the last person you'd expect to be the modern oligarch's decorator of choice.

Thirtysevenyear-old Chris Dezille of Honky Design (an unlikely name for an olidecorator) hardly even has to give out his phone number. If someone with the better part of Pounds 1 billion wants to part with some of it, Dezille is the man they call. Or, as was the case with the Wycombe Square development recently sold to Serbia's richest businessman Miroslav Miskovic, who bought two houses in the new development between Holland Park and Notting Hill, for Pounds 14.5 million and Pounds 11 million (the second house was for his daughter Ivana, recently married into the Karic family, Serbia's second richest oligarchy), they get him without even knowing they're getting him. The refurbishment costs to the 8,500sq ft house were approximately Pounds 3 million, which works out at Pounds 1,800 per sq ft.
