THE oil price has been hitting new highs all this week in Britain and America and is more expensive now than at any time in the past 20 years and the reasons are pretty obvious.
There are doubts about the stability of supply from key producers such as Nigeria and Venezuela, to say nothing of Iraq. Longer term, there are doubts about the stability of Saudi Arabia and, short- term, the intervention of President Vladimir Putin in the affairs of Russian oil giant Yukos has added a further dimension of uncertainty.See the full content of this document
