A 500-YEAR-OLD monument that has never been seen outside Mexico is the centrepiece of the British Museum's autumn show.
The one-tonne Teocalli of Sacred Warfare was commissioned by Aztec ruler Moctezuma II. Museum curators managed to persuade Mexico to part temporarily with it by promising to restore his reputation. Moctezuma is known in Europe as a tragic figure who died in 1520 while losing his empire.See the full content of this document
