Most of the Public Now Opposes Id Cards

Summary


THE majority of the public is against ID cards, an opinion poll showed today in a new blow to the Government's flagship scheme.

Of those questioned by ICM, 51 per cent thought a national identity card was a bad or a very bad idea while 47 per cent were in favour.
