IT'S ANOTHER fine mess for Culture Secretary Tessa Jowell to sort out. The search is on for a new Chairman of English Heritage to succeed Sir Neil Cossons, who took over from Sir Jocelyn Stevens in 2000. The appointment is made by the Culture Secretary, but so far it's proved a tricky one.
Former Daily Telegraph editor Charles Moore has been approached but has declined to be put on the short list. He is apparently too busy writing columns for the Telegraph and The Spectator and putting the finishing touches to his biography of Margaret Thatcher to be published when she dies.See the full content of this document
