A CHINESE restaurant boss has been fined Pounds 15,000 after an inspection found mice nesting among the dinner plates, cockroaches in kitchen strainers, and a shoe in spice containers.

Hygiene officers also found mouse dropping on work surfaces and cockroaches in storage boxes when they went to Rong Cheng restaurant in Chinatown.
