Summary
There is nothing wrong with a Labour minister showing disdain for naive backbenchers who believe only the state should deliver education. But Ruth Kelly appears to argue that while the state delivers perfectly well for most children, it fails if children need special care. Those of us who believe all children need special care must now worry about the state's ability to educate anyone.
